I chose to serve on the one hard board because of the impact that the ministry has had on my family. We are a loving family of six because the Lord has blessed us through one heart with three wonderful kids to Foster and adopt. One heart gave us the training and support that we needed. I felt that giving back to one heart through service and support was the least that I could do.

I chose to serve on the board at One Heart Family Ministries because I saw first hand the impact foster care can have on a child. I worked in the public school system in St. Louis County for many years. I saw many children in and out of foster homes. Many of these children struggled with school, behaviors, and relationships with their peers and others. I was drawn to One Heart as a Christian ministry that prioritized the families and put the children first. It brings me such joy to see our One Heart families dedicated to serving these children in our community.

I joined the board because I have a passion for children who have an extra need to be loved. I am a teacher and have taught a few OHFM children during my time. I also have three cousins that were adopted through OHFM. I have never been blessed with children of my own and so I’m thankful to have an opportunity to care for children this way.

My husband and I completed One Heart's classes and became licensed to foster over 10 years ago. Although our time fostering was brief, I've always wanted to remain involved with the organization. In 2024, I was invited to join the advisory council, and it has been a wonderful way for me to serve and stay connected to the ministry. I am continuously humbled by the work God is accomplishing through His people in the lives of children in foster care through One Heart Family Ministries.
